Pip helping

Pippa is still very active and as crazy as ever. We can't tell that she is pregnant until she rolls over and exposes her belly which is a little rounder than usual. We all worked in the garden at the weekend chopping wood for the wood burner and Pip was trying to be helpful!
She is 6 weeks pregnant today and I have increased her food intake which she is happy about. Our other dog, Molly, is very disgruntled about it.
We went to see Kirsty's litter of Border collie pups which are four weeks old and are so adorable. It made me so excited and I still can't believe that we are having puppies of our own.

Skinny Pip

Pippa is still looking very slim and no outward signs that she is having puppies. We went for a lovely Autumn walk this afternoon in the woods and saw lots of coloured leaves and fallen sweet chestnuts. I went with my mum and she was absolutly warn out by the end, I thought she was going to keel over! It's a good job she hasn't got collies to walk every day.

I am getting a few enquiries for the puppies already and so far all from agility homes which is great.

Scan

Well what an exciting day! Pippa had her scan at the vets to see if she is pregnant and she is! The vet could definitely see three puppies but maybe more.

I went for a walk to Goodrington beach afterwards and Pippa was running around and chasing seagulls as she always does, you just wouldn't know to look at her that she's having babies.

My fourteen year old sons were over the moon with the news and keep stroking her belly (which she loves) and are spoiling her rotten.

fussy Pippa

Pippa has gone off her food at the moment, I think it may be a touch of morning sickness. She is definitely looking a bit heavier. I have just been looking at the Devongem puppies who have just gone to their new homes, they look so gorgeous, it is making me even more excited for when Pip has her litter.

Pippa's sister has just had a litter and used the same dog,Fen, as I did so they will give me an indication of what the puppies will look like. They are the Korsabian line.

I am missing agility now. At first I was glad for the break but it has been about three months with out doing any and I'm getting itchy feet. I think Pip misses it too. She was just starting to settle down and we won four 3rd places in grade 3 this year so she is doing well.

I am hoping that the puppies will go to active or agility homes, the puppies are certainly going to need it with Pippa and Fen as parents!

Day 24 of pregnancy

It has been a beautiful sunny October day and I have had a lovely walk with Molly, my border collie cross and Pippa. We went to the beach and both dogs had a paddle in the sea. This afternoon Nick was digging up a tree in the garden and Pippa was watching intently-typical border collie-obsessed with anything that moves.

We brought our runner ducks up to the top lawn to eat the worms that were dug up with the tree.

Pippa

Pippa is my pride and joy, a beautiful border collie. She is an agility dog and is currently in grade 3. Her kennel club name is Korsabian Sweet Moment and her Dad is the famous 'Black Robin Highlander'.

I have just mated Pippa with Waggerland Wizard and we are just waiting for her scan which is due next week to see if the mating has worked.

We are very excited as we have never bred before and are looking for any possible signs or indications.
